I have a strong desire for learning new skills and self improvement. I get great satisfaction from helping other people achieve their full potential. I’ve had the privilege of long term mentoring of two young men with great outcomes.

Life is a journey that comes with success and setbacks (aka learning opportunities). I like to observe and analyse these events in my own life and the lives of others in order to learn and grow. Observation, combined with research provide many opportunities to learn and share those lessons with others.

Hobbies / Interests

Since much of my day is consumed with work activities, I value my personal time. I enjoy photography and electronics. To stay active I enjoy skiing, biking, camping and swimming. I’m in a masters swim club and swim competitively in both the pool and open water in the summer months.

Professional

Entrepreneur – I’ve started a number of businesses, including an IT support company, a branch of a private career college and most recently Premier Event Support.

Project Management – I’ve had various roles in many IT projects and have studied Project Management at Ryerson University.

Trainer – At the private career college I was a trainer, developing lesson materials and responsible for staff development.

Speaker – My love of public speaking started as a trainer, where I developed the ability to take complex material and break it down so it could be presented in a way that is easy for all to understand. After leaving the college, I continued to develop my speaking skills in Toastmasters and through various courses. I currently host a weekly webcast, hold workshops and facilitate meetings. I am available for public speaking engagements on a variety of topics.
